Roger Williams University

Arts Management

The program is a minor to serve students primarily in the arts programs — visual arts, performing arts, literary arts — as well as those architecture and historic preservation majors. Rhode Island punches above its weight in the arts — close integration with local and regional arts and organizations is a hallmark of the program.

Goals and Objectives

Provide students with an interest in the arts and culture with a larger scope of meaningful career options other than a professional artist.

Curriculum

The program provides an overiew of the Arts and Cultural administration with a focus on US not-for-profit organizations and structure. A central feature of the program is the required internship with an arts or cultural organization as well as a capstone "Launch Project" The launch project focuses on preparing a portfolio or promotional package for the best first job.
