Lee Ann Adams
Executive Director

Lee Ann Adams has over thirteen years of experience working in nonprofit management and higher education in the arts, and she joins AAAE after serving as Assistant Director of Programs and Operations at the Association of Independent Colleges of Art & Design (AICAD) - a nonprofit membership organization of the 41 leading colleges of art and design.  

Prior to joining AICAD, Adams worked as an Admissions Officer at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), as an Administrator in the Fine American Paintings Department at Christie’s Auction House in New York City, and as Assistant to the Director at the National Museum of American Illustration in Newport, Rhode Island. 

Adams holds an M.S. in Non-Profit Management with a focus on Organizational Communications from Northeastern University, and a B.F.A in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. Additionally, Adams maintains a creative practice as a fine arts painter, and she serves as Treasurer on the Rhode Island Art Education Association (RIAEA) Board. 

Adams believes deeply in the value of an arts education, and brings her passion and expertise to the field of Arts Administration through her role as Executive Director at AAAE. Contact Lee Ann


Haley Carlson, Programs and Operations Manager

Haley Carlson is a dedicated arts manager, advocate, and enthusiast, with a passion to advance opportunities for creatives in all sectors. She has worked at large and small arts organizations alike, such as Dia: Beacon, Southern Highland Craft Guild, and the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. She received her master’s in Arts Leadership & Cultural Management from the LEAP Institute for the Arts at Colorado State University in 2017. Haley is an active member in the arts and nonprofit world, serving on the board of S.T.A.M.P. (Sustainable Training for Artists, Musicians, and Performers) and volunteer Production Coordinator for the Giving Kitchen's annual Team Hidi Fundraiser.  In 2018, Haley co-founder of the Dream Warriors Foundation, a grantmaking organization that serves womxn in the area of the Arts, Community Impact, Personal Crisis and Entrepreneurship.
