Lee Ann Adams
Executive Director

Lee Ann Adams has over thirteen years of experience working in nonprofit management and higher education in the arts, and she joins AAAE after serving as Assistant Director of Programs and Operations at the Association of Independent Colleges of Art & Design (AICAD) - a nonprofit membership organization of the 41 leading colleges of art and design.  

Prior to joining AICAD, Adams worked as an Admissions Officer at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), as an Administrator in the Fine American Paintings Department at Christie’s Auction House in New York City, and as Assistant to the Director at the National Museum of American Illustration in Newport, Rhode Island. 

Adams holds an M.S. in Non-Profit Management with a focus on Organizational Communications from Northeastern University, and a B.F.A in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. Additionally, Adams maintains a creative practice as a fine arts painter, and she serves as Treasurer on the Rhode Island Art Education Association (RIAEA) Board. 

Adams believes deeply in the value of an arts education, and brings her passion and expertise to the field of Arts Administration through her role as Executive Director at AAAE. Contact Lee Ann

Alex Hinand
Programs and Operations Manager

Alex brings extensive experience in nonprofit management and program development, having worked previously as the Interim Director of Operations at the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. Additionally, Alex has worked as the Programming and Communications Coordinator at the Grove Museum, and as the General Manager for the Florida State University Orchestra Program. He has also worked for the Spoleto Festival USA and the Aspen Music Festival and School, where he will be returning for another summer this year. Alex holds an M.A in Arts Administration and a BME in Instrumental Music Education from The Florida State University. He also serves on the board for Social Theory, Politics, and the Arts, and volunteers heavily with the Center on Halsted, Chicago’s LGBTQ Community Center.
