tools for assessment and continual development
Working as an association for the past several years, AAAE has developed and published standards for graduate and undergraduate program curricula. Intended to be benchmarks for self-assessment and continual development, these standards are based on the philosophy that all arts administration program graduates are entitled to certain outcomes from their education, regardless of the specific emphasis of the program.
Further, these initiatives were intended to frame and foster a more productive dialog with practitioners, decision-makers, and leaders in arts and culture, and to assist in creating a mutual understanding of the requirements for today’s cultural leader.
These are living documents and will be reviewed periodically as necessary, as determined by the Board of Directors and the respective standards committees. These documents are meant as guides and tools, not as prescriptions.
