Position Title: Director, Arts Engagement

Brief Summary of Work for this Position:

Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement, the Director, Arts Engagement, oversees all arts programming in collaboration with UNCW’s five academic departments and student-supported units.

The Director works with the Director of Arts Management to provide oversight and management to the operations of UNCW’s performance venues.

The Director works with the Artist Services and Residency Manager to generate support for community engagement activities in the arts.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in arts, music, theatre, or related degree, or 5 year experience in the art field.

Required skills include organization, time-management, excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, budget preparation and management, grant writing.

Preferred formal education, professional skills and work experience:

Master’s degree in arts, music, theatre, or related degree and work experience in the arts field.
