Lee Erik Eachus

Lee Erik Eachus is a 2006 graduate of Transylvania University with a BA in Anthropology and English and a 2016 graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design with his MA in Arts Administration. Prior to his current work as Development Director at Lexington Art League, Lee was a professional dancer with Princess Cruises Entertainment of Los Angeles, CA, Peter Grey Terhune Entertainment of Orlando, FL, and Matt Davenport Productions of Nashville, TN. At the end of his time on stage, Lee began working in development and marketing for some of the nation’s most prestigious ballet companies, including American Ballet Theatre of New York City and Miami City Ballet of Miami Beach, FL.

While at Miami City Ballet, Lee was integral to the development of ‘Ballet Bus’ – an entirely free, immersive training program for students of Miami Beach Title I Schools. Aimed at breaking down barriers of accessibility to quality dance training by providing students transportation to and from Miami City Ballet School’s training studios, ‘Ballet Bus’ was recently endorsed by Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho as a “great equalizer” for artistic opportunity otherwise unavailable to the students it targets. Lee currently serves on the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Arts & Culture, the Board of Directors at Lexington Ballet, and was recently selected for Commerce Lex’s Leadership Lexington program.

Recently, Lee spearheaded a program in conjunction with the Lexington Police Department and Fayette County Public Schools entitled ‘JustUs,’ aimed at building and sustaining meaningful relationships between high risk youth and law enforcement through shared arts experiences to rebuild trust and instill compassion.
