Arts Administration


Students who are passionate about translating their creativity into a career will thrive in our comprehensive graduate arts administration program.

Focused on applying management concepts in an arts environment, students in our program will study marketing and fundraising, build collaborative skills, and interpret financial documents. Students will also complete a consulting practicum, envisioned to create a bridge into a career in the arts and culture industry.



Goals and Objectives

Learning Outcomes:

Students will analyze the various contexts within which arts organizations operate.
Students will synthesize knowledge drawn from the core functions of arts administration.
Students will analyze core concepts in organizational behavior.
Students will apply skills and competencies gained through coursework.


Curriculum

The course of study for the Master of Science in Arts Administration consists of:

Foundation Courses - 15 credits
Business Courses - 6 credits
Electives - 6 credits
Practicum and Capstone - 9 credits

36 credits total

All courses are offered either in the evening, online, or in a hybrid format to accommodate students' schedules.

Admissions

A complete application includes two letters of recommendation, a resume, a personal statement, official undergraduate transcripts, and an advising appointment with the program director. There is no GRE requirement, nor is there an application fee.

Our program admits students on a rolling basis for each term, with priority application deadlines of:
Fall Admission - July 1
Spring Admission - November 1
Summer Admission - April 1
