Lee Ann Adams
Lee Ann Adams has over thirteen years of experience working in nonprofit management and higher education in the arts, and she joins AAAE after serving as Assistant Director of Programs and Operations at the Association of Independent Colleges of Art & Design (AICAD) - a nonprofit membership organization of the 41 leading colleges of art and design.
Prior to joining AICAD, Adams worked as an Admissions Officer at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), as an Administrator in the Fine American Paintings Department at Christie’s Auction House in New York City, and as Assistant to the Director at the National Museum of American Illustration in Newport, Rhode Island.
Adams holds an M.S. in Non-Profit Management with a focus on Organizational Communications from Northeastern University, and a B.F.A in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design. Additionally, Adams maintains a creative practice as a fine arts painter, and she serves as Treasurer on the Rhode Island Art Education Association (RIAEA) Board.
Adams believes deeply in the value of an arts education, and brings her passion and expertise to the field of Arts Administration through her role as Executive Director at AAAE. Contact Lee Ann
An alumna of Carnegie Mellon University and the College of Charleston, Jessie Bower has studied American and European models of Arts Administration. She joined the College of Charleston’s Arts Management faculty after receiving her MA and has been teaching in their undergraduate program for over four years. Jessie has held various positions in the field of Arts Management including working in Education at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, in Development and Operations for the Mattress Factory Museum in Pittsburgh, and assisting international visual artists Dalek and Tim Hussey.
