Work Group: AAAE Field Study

Co-Chairs: Randy Pope and Harmon Greenblatt. A twenty-six question survey was sent to board for vetting. Many programs have been interested in this kind of data. It could be tied into membership renewal to encourage member response. Would like to get this out and started this summer. Randy has student help over the summer to work on it.

Work Group: Collaborative Research

Chair - Rich Maloney. This group is exploring ways to encourage and facilitate collaborative research among AAAE members. This initiative began at recent conferences where short paper presentations were included in the program, and working group sessions were held for open discussion on the subject.

Work Group: International Focus

Co-Chairs: Ad Huijsmans, Bill Poole. Ad will send a letter to the team members, will put together a survey re: in what ways members see international programs as important, with results for distribution at the November board meeting. Eleven people, nine nationalities were represented at the Philadelphia discussion.

Work Group: Service Learning

Chair: Andrew Taylor. At the conference in Philadelphia in April, an attempt was made to gather documents on programs’ service learning procedures. Andrew will send out a call for documents and call other organizations who work with service learning.

Work Group: Syllabus Sharing

Chair: Jean Brody. This group is working to build a platform and strategy to share syllabus and other course documents. We will begin by developing categories of courses based on the Graduate Standards, and then invite the membership to add their syllabi here.
