Rural and Small Community Arts Organizations: A survey of

This paper examines local arts agencies and organizations that serve rural and small communities. Chapters examine the history of the Community Arts Movement and growth of the NEA, the importance of community arts development in small communities, an analysis of the results from an online survey, in depth observations of rural arts organizations in South Carolina, and the realizations of ways to improve on rural arts development.
