Abstract  

Although both corporate and non-profit mergers have become an important part of American commerce, it is only in the last ten years that researchers and practitioners have become concerned about their effects on employees. Regardless of whether or not an organization is a financial institution, public utility, entertainment mogul, hospital or non-profit arts organization, it will experience similar organizational culture and human performance problems. In today's business environment where mergers are becoming expected, what have we learned and what can we do better?
