Abstract  

This thesis concentrates on cultural planning for Monterey County, California. Utilizing for-profit and non-profit partnerships, the research examines methods to overcome funding obstacles for the arts, and offers examples of successful cultural planning in California. The conclusion recommends developing an innovative model for cultural planning through partnerships with the for-profit sector that focus on long-term returns of creativity and prosperity in the community.
