| Abstract | This major paper examines the inability of the U.S. cultural industry to reach consensus regarding language and identity, and to utilize metaphor and morality to effectively frame the debate for cultural policy support. The conclusion reached is that this industry, in order to address increasingly more complex and global issues of public policy, must align its communication strategy and belief system in order to send a more unified and cohesive message to the American public, and its elected decision-makers. | |
