Program Goals and Objectives

The Arts Management Program seeks to prepare women and men for professional managerial and volunteer leadership positions in the world of culture and the arts. The unique components of being located in the second most densely populated area of the United States of arts organizations, coupled with the University's own Center for the Arts, Hylton Performing Arts Center and a faculty who are the arts management and research leaders in the dynamic Greater Washington DC arts and culture scene, provide for an outstanding network and an environment conducive to exceptional learning and practice.

Many students attend part-time, while some attend full-time. All engage in an extraordinary array of internships and access to the international exchanges continually being developed.

Administration of the Program

The Arts Management program is part of the International Center for the Management of the Arts, Education & Culture, within the College of Visual & Performing Arts.
