Viability in New York City Theater Companies Under Three Years Old

This thesis seeks to analyze the current conditions of New York City theater groups under three years old, how they are operating and what can be done to ensure success. In a time when the economy has driven down arts support, it is important to examine these companies and discover what can be done to guarantee continued growth. This information has been collected through a series of surveys and interviews with 21 young theater companies and analyzes the young theater community, its needs, failures and successes.
