Work Group: Service Learning
Chair: Andrew Taylor. At the conference in Philadelphia in April, an attempt was made to gather documents on programs’ service learning procedures. Andrew will send out a call for documents and call other organizations who work with service learning.
Gathering the great examples
Our first step in this service/work learning groups was to gather the documents programs use to define and evaluate their hands-on learning projects with outside partners. These might includes letters describing the programs, agreements provided when a student is assigned or placed with a host institution, evaluation documents or forms that help host, student, and program to assess how the connection is working.
