| Abstract | As China enters the twenty-first century, political, economic and social changes are affecting art and culture in the country. China, new to the global art scene, is now updating its procedures for arts and cultural exchanges; discovering how to fund these activities; creating private museums and relying on collections from international museums; and experimenting with varying exhibition mehtods. Research on the process and challenges of traveling art exhibitions to China include interviews with five different museums and two governmental organizations in China that deal with art and cultural exchanges. | |
