Abstract

In this thesis I attempt to shape the main theoretical guidelines of a new program that will soon rise on the Slow Food horizon: Slow Folk. Slow Folk will be the new child in the Slow Food family, an international nonprofit umbrella organization that focuses on ecogastronomy. Unlike its parent company Slow Food, Slow Folk will be devoted to folk music and rural traditions. It will feature a series of activities ranging from concerts during Slow Food events, folk music festivals, publications of articles and essays to a music label and an archive.
