Abstract

The hypothesis of this paper is that space expansion in museums can broaden the constituency base and heighten the audience's experience in museums and meet both public goals and the audience's educational demands. By analyzing both completed and ongoing expansion projects of three U.S. museums, this paper aims to study how expansion projects impact audience development.
