| Abstract | Dancers of all types retire very young and they are ill equipped educationally, psychologically, and emotionally to enter the workforce in a new capacity. As a result, they require extra-ordinary help and preparation via additional education to enable them to redirect their lives, but they lack the financial resources to do so. This paper will attempt to explain the rationale for why dancers need such specialized aid, describe what programs currently exist and how they are deficient financially, and offer possible solutions. | |
