Historic House Museums In Crisis In The 21st Century

Major paper examines the challenges facing historic house museums in the 21st century including a lack of funding; aging constituencies; competition; weakness in interpretation; decline of history education in schools; and limited audience building. Research findings may help museum professionals at other such institutions better meet these current challenges.
