Abstract

This paper will provide an overview of these relatively new museum education programs by addressing the following issues: what are the basic considerations for a museum starting a videoconferencing program?; how are museums adapting their content to this kind of programming and what are some examples from the field?; are museums partnering with outside entities to support their operating and/or content needs?; and what are some of the big-picture opportunities and challenges for museums that wish to remain competitive through technology-based programs?
