The Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) is an international membership organization serving academic programs in arts and cultural management, research, and policy. Membership in AAAE connects you to a world of colleagues, insights, research, and professional development opportunities. You'll have access to our on-line community, where you can discuss current issues in your program or your curriculum, connect with colleagues with similar challenges, and share best practices of your own. Better yet, you'll have the opportunity to engage these issues face-to-face in our annual membership conference.
Full and associate memberships are open to graduate and undergraduate academic programs in arts and cultural administration, arts policy, and research. Individual and student memberships are available for those unaffiliated with degree-granting programs, but still interested in education, research, policy, and practice in arts and cultural management.
Details of each membership level follows:
Full Membership ($350/year) is open to programs that have a designated director with curricular oversight authority, confer a graduate or undergraduate degree in arts administration or a related discipline, or confer a comparable academic credential determined acceptable by the board, have a published arts administration curriculum approved by the program's host department or college, and have currently enrolled students at application. Full membership is subject to application and approval by the AAAE board. Programs new to AAAE membership should apply at the associate level, and then apply for full membership status if appropriate.
Associate Membership ($250/year) is open to academic programs in arts and cultural administration that may not yet meet the criteria for full membership, but who are moving toward that goal.
Individual Membership ($75/year) is open to individuals who are not the director or associate director of an academic program in arts administration, but who by profession, avocation, interest or other reason wish to affiliate with AAAE. These might be faculty members in academic programs, or scholars or researchers in unaffiliated departments or programs. Individuals wishing to serve as representatives of their program should join as associate or full members, as appropriate.
Student Membership ($30) is open to individuals who are registered in college or university arts administration degree programs or in other degree programs who wish to contribute to and learn from the members of AAAE.

All applications for full membership are subject to the review and approval of the Board which serves as a membership committee.
