Pre-Conference Podcasting Workshop
Pre-Conference Workshop
Thursday, April 24, Noon - 3:00 pm
SOLD OUT!
Podcasting -- digital media files distributed over the Internet -- is changing the nature of the classroom experience, extending the reach of faculty, researchers, and programs, and providing a powerful new venue for sharing your insights on the field.
This workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to the recording, editing, and online distribution of audio files required to make a podcast. Attendees will learn how to start and maintain a quality podcast on a limited (or zero) budget and have an opportunity to create and edit their own mini podcast episodes. The session presenters will provide a detailed introduction to sound editing software and related Internet tools, as well as an overview of the many hardware and software resources available to podcast producers.
In addition to the hands-on workshop, interested workshop participants will have an opportunity to extend their hands-on experience by conducting audio interviews with conference speakers, presenters, and attendees using equipment provided by Carnegie Mellon's Institute for the Management of Creative Enterprises (www.Artsnet.org) and create their own podcasts that will be available from the AAAE conference Web site.
